RE: F450's owners

My bad, I mean 4.30 not 4.10. I'm not quite awake yet. That sucks. I wish I had the 4.30's now.

RE: F450's owners

So Ford does not offer 4.88 gears any more. Is the truck still rated to tow 24,500lbs with the 4.10's. It looks like Ford just did the 4.88's to get into the record books now they are dropping the ball.

RE: F450's owners

I get 11 to 12 while not towing. This is not my daily driver. If you are going to use it as a daily drive I would say DONT DO IT. I love this truck for towing my TH with a Jeep in the back. My TH weighs about 20000lbs when loaded and I get about 8.5 while towing. The power is great. I do have the 4.88 gears.

RE: HWH hydraulic landing gear / leveling jacks?

Just for the landing gear I was quoted $1925. This is not installed. HWH has a program that you enter your trailers specs and what jacks you want and it will give you a price. Here is a link to the web page. LINK If I may ask what problem did you have??

RE: HWH hydraulic landing gear / leveling jacks?

Check this out, it will lift our entire 20,000.00 plus pounds, 8 tires and wheels totaly off the ground........ Britt WOW! I'm convinced. I called HWH this morning. They said I should be able to install it my self. I am not going to go with the leveling system just the landing gear. Thanks!

RE: HWH hydraulic landing gear / leveling jacks?

Let me start at the beginning. I do not have the HWH landing gear on my trailer now. I am considering going to HWH because of the problems I am having with the stock electric motor type landing gear made by Atwood I think. The problem has been ongoing ever since we bought our Weekend Warrior in April of 06. Here is a link to my first post about the landing gear problem. Link Sorry for the confusion :S

HWH hydraulic landing gear / leveling jacks?

I have always had problems with the landing gear on my trailer. I do not want to go in to the problems I have had. I would just like to know if any one here has used the hydraulic landing gear / leveling jacks made by HWH on their TH?? If so how do you like it??

RE: F450 Weight Stickers?

My truck is not used for a commercial purpose in any way so I feel I will just keep them in the truck and play ignorant (which is not to hard) if pulled over.

F450 Weight Stickers?

I bought my 2008 F450 last year and got my registration and tags in the mail, no weight stickers. This year when I registered I got this. http://waywegos.com/files/100_1410.jpg I know what they are and I know why I have them. My question is if I don't put them on my door and get pulled over will it be just a fix-it ticket or will there be some sort of fine???

RE: improved f250 6.4l improved mpg

Can someone post a picture? or a link to a part so I can look at this myself...I find myself in the skeptical crowd but hey--if more people on board are saying its true...maybe I can get my wife the authorize funds...Just tell her it will pay for it self with in a few tank full's. I'm sure this will work for me, then she will forget she authorized the funds in a few weeks.:B

RE: improved f250 6.4l improved mpg

That piece of plastic even worked on my "oh so horrible" diesel slurping 4.88 geared F-450. At a steady(cruise control engaged)60mph road speed, my mileage increase right at 1 mile per gallon. I was seeing low to mid 12's now I am regularly seeing 13.5mpg at the same speed. I am now crafting a 22 foot long sheet of polished aluminum that will attach just aft of the larger air dam and fully enclose the underside of my truck, terminating at the lower edge of the rear bumper. Smoothing the airflow on the underside and if formed correctly provide some aerodynamic lift which, if my calculations are correct, should lesson the downward pressure from 9,000lbs to app. 6500lbs at 62.4mph. That should result in an increase to app. 24mpg. This is non-towing conditions of course. If you place enough aluminum around the entire truck you could make a hover craft and greatly increase MPG!!:B

RE: improved f250 6.4l improved mpg

This is very interesting to me. My F450 only gets 12MPG at best. Even if I got 1 more MPG that would be great for an $89 investment. Can you post some links to the other forums you have looked at?? Thanks

RE: which tires to go with for a Raptor 3612

I would try Americas tire. They are all over and have all the tire mfg you have mentioned. LinkThe one I go to I have to remove my tires and take them in, their shop is to small for my trailer.

RE: Problem: Genny not charging batteries

I had a similar problem. When I checked the batteries I noticed that one of the cables that was suppose to be connected to the batteries was underneath the battery. My suggestion is make sure all the cables are hooked up to the batteries. In mine there is 5 that must be connected to the positive post.

RE: Which toy hauler would hold a Jeep Wrangler ?

Thanks man... I have noticed my mirrors have hit the underside of the cabinets when underway. Apparently the Jeep moves a bit on the road when tied down by the axles. Otherwise there is no problems with the floor or anything else.Hey George My mirrors don't come any where close to my cabinets. It must be because I let the air out of my tires. On another note, I have not seen you in OTRTV yet and now they are doing re-runs?

RE: Which toy hauler would hold a Jeep Wrangler ?

We have a Jeep TJ and put it in a Weekend Warrior LE 3305 fifth wheel. We did have to remove the rear bed (it was manual). Jeep weight 4500 lbs. Does not even flex the rear loading door. We spent 3 years looking for the right toy hauler for the Jeep. Hope that helps. So you had to remove the Ultrabed? I really need the Ultrabed and use it quite a bit for guests. Is it possible that an electric bed could take up less room? The LE3305 was my first choice so far. I was curious if you have any room left over after the Jeep to load quads? If the bed has to come out to get the Jeep in I might have to continue my search. The electric bed only rises to 77 inches. The ultra bed can be mounted at 78 inches. Sure would like that extra inch right now.Like I said I have to let all the air out of my jeep tires to fit it under the bed, that is until I install my AiRock system. :)

RE: Stopped by Poway Sheriff- Class A lic check

I just reviewed the California vehicle code. you can haul a 5th wheel trailer, up to 14, 999 lbs GVWR with a Class C AND AN ENDORSEMENT. You need a non-commercial class A if it is 15,000 lbs and above. So, what is the weight rating of a 3 axle toy hauler? 3 Axle TH=> 15000
